Whether you live on a sailboat, on an RV, or in a tiny home, you have to get creative about storage. One of the biggest “head slapping, omg that’s so obvious now” places that we’ve created storage is the ceiling.
Say what? Yup, the ceiling. We keep our spare lifejackets in a cargo net held up with our favorite hooks, and our SUP/Kayak paddles are nestled into a cozy little fishing pole holder in the cockpit. Even our potato chips are in on the fun. We’ve fashioned a “chip hammock” out of a cargo net that hangs in our spare cabin (catamarans have this luxury) from none other than the same tried and true hooks. The kiddos have taken the hint and raised up some of their stuffies in the same type of setup.
Do yourself a favor and pick up a couple cargo nets (make sure they have a tight weave) and some hooks and get creative!
